Once in the shop, an oil change is a pretty quick affair, and we’re usually able to get you in and out of our shop in about half an hour. It’ll be quickest if you schedule ahead, but you’re more than welcome to show up for an oil change unannounced; it just may take longer. Oil changes are one of the quickest, easiest things you can do to maintain your Cadillac, but they also happen to be one of the most important. Your engine's oil flows through the engine, serving as a lubricant to keep temperatures down and all components working together efficiently. It also helps keep your engine clean by absorbing dirt and particles that accumulate over time. As it absorbs more particles, it becomes thicker and less effective, necessitating oil changes.

There are a few different types of engine oil your vehicle could use. These days, most new Cadillacs use full synthetic oil, while older models may use conventional oil.

• Conventional Oil: This is the standard product that most folks think of, made from refined crude oil. It’s usually the most affordable type of oil.
• Full Synthetic Oil: Synthetic oil is chemically altered to filter out impurities, helping it last significantly longer than conventional oil and deliver better performance at extreme temperatures. As such, it's the most expensive type of oil.
• Synthetic Blend: Blends mix synthetic and conventional to some degree, delivering some of the performance of synthetic oil, without the higher price.
• High-Mileage Oil: As the name suggests, this oil is used to care for engines that have seen some significant miles.
